Chemicals are a necessary part of our everyday life. Endocrine disruptors, on the other hand, can have negative impacts on the body's endocrine (hormone) system. Hormones regulate the body's development, growth, reproduction, metabolism, immunity, and behavior in minute amounts and at specific times. Endocrine signalling is important in reproduction and embryo development, growth and maturation, energy synthesis, usage, and storage, electrolyte balance and maintenance, and behavior in both humans and animals.
